Jacob Leonard

CrossFit Coach

Biography

After seeing the CrossFit Games and watching several videos of Rich Froning during his senior year of high school, Jacob attempted some at home workouts (they were rough…). Jacob joined the CrossFit community in 2015 during his first year of college at the Tennessee State University and hasn’t looked back since. He is currently pursuing a degree in Architectural Engineering and will graduate in May of 2019.

Outside of school, work, and the gym Jacob loves spending time with his son James, reading books, and trying new restaurants in Nashville. He grew up playing soccer and golf and strongly believes CrossFit has improved his overall ability in both sports. His focus in CrossFit is to improve flexibility, overall strength, and aerobic capacity through functional movement performed at relative intensity (let’s be honest). Jacob’s favorite movements include heavy thrusters, burpees of any kind, and spending time with the beloved Assault Bike. You can find him at the 6:30AMclass. He is excited to be a part of this new and growing community in East Nashville!
